THE UNIVERSITY OF GOTHENBURG IN SWEDEN CERTIFIES THE REDUCTION IN THE RISK OF INFECTION IN SURGICAL AREAS WITH ELSANEK 125
The Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, in Sweden, has validated that the use of Elsanek 125fabrics with Olefine technology reduces the level of risk in surgical areas.
The study focused on the impact on the numbers of CFU (colony-forming units) in the air of white rooms, where staff wore uniforms made of Elsanek 120 Fabrics.
The research, conducted by Bengt Ljunggvist and Berit Reinmüller, concludes that the use of additional clothing systems with extra protection from knees to feet, and covering the shoes, considerably reduces the number of bacteria suspended in the air. This was compared with the number of bacteria when the user only wears overall and trousers, without footwear protection.
The study concludes that the use of Elsanek antibacterial fabrics has a positive impact on reducing the risks of infection in surgical areas.
